![]() ![]() I’d really prefer not to drill through the Molex if I can avoid it. ![]() So I am trying to figure out the best way to run new wire from the amp to each speaker. I believe the truck also uses the Molex plugs in the doors, making running new speaker wires a pain in the ass. When replacing or upgrading the speaker wiring in your car, we recommend using 18-, 16-, or 14-gauge wires instead of 16-, 14-, or 12-gauge wires. My factory stereo has separate tweeters in the A pillars. Image Dynamics XS-57 (x2) in front and rear doors (fronts will be separate and rears will be coax) Also, I typically don’t do rear fill but my kids will be in it a lot and they want to jam out. The goal is to have little to no modification of the truck, so everything drops right in. I am going to be doing a fairly simple (for me this means no ported 10” midbass or horns) stereo upgrade this week and am trying to make sure I have a game plan and everything I need. "upgrade sync 3" search to find them.Hey guys, I recently bought a 2012 Ford F-150 SuperCrew, non-nav, non-Sony. I haven't kept up on this, maybe someone else has. And would need to find a Ford 8" screen dash, which would also be expensive. But, I think you'd run into the same design issue with that 4" screen. I dont have the nav system or sync installed. ![]() I keep reading that I need some kind of fancy interface to hook it up. Stereo/Audio - 2010 aftermarket stereo upgrade - Hi, I have a 2010 F150, looking to put in new double din all in one unit. But, I'm not totally familiar with the mid-range stereo you have.Īn option is to upgrade to Sync 3 system out of a later Ford model vehicle. If anyone already has checked it is the single cd unit. The Maestro also provides some syncing with Sync, I believe. Its been mostly a dash kit with a dated double din from name brand manufacturer. You can make it under $1000 (without install), but it's probably going to be close with all the hookup stuff you need. Ive had my 2009 F150 for several years now and Id always been looking to upgrade the stock radio but theyre been very few options out there. It will have a link with each product for "installation gear". Go to, car audio section, enter in your vehicle data, and search for Carplay-compatible setups. And I'm not sure anybody makes a single-din version, so you are looking at a double-din setup. So, the most expensive part (other than the radio) will be a new dash surround for whatever kind of radio you get, to fit a normal-shaped radio/display. The 4" screen dash is not really compatible with any aftermarket stereo setups I know of. I would assume that 10" or bigger screen is mounted outside because it doesn't fit in the dash. Is there any kind of bracket or mounting kit where I can mount the radio outside the dash? My buddy has an 06 Cummins and his Sony radio sits outside the dash and I wouldn’t mind having something like that. So I’m looking for cheaper alternatives for now until I can talk myself into spending that much. That sounds great but to me it doesn’t make since to spend nearly if not over $1000 on a sound system. I have read some threads in the past that mention the Maestro dash kit. I have a 2014 F150 XLT with the 4.2” screen and I’m looking at getting an apple carplay compatible radio. I have never really cared for it until recently when my friend did his whole sound system and it was done so good it made me want it in my truck lol.
